Steam says i already own a game i dont have

Im trying to buy space engineers and its saying i already own the game when i try to buy it and i can only buy it as a gift, i've tried reinstalling the game and even reinstalling steam, meaning i now have 500 GIGABYTES worth of games to reinstall, and it still says i own the game, its nowhere in my files or my library.

Remove the Free Weekend license from here https://store.steampowered.com/account/licenses/ and then purchase it.

what i found out is i had to go to steam support, select space engine, and then permanently delete it, it was telling me, based on the files that i didn't have the game anymore, but was hiding the fact i still had it

You had the Free Weekend license tied to your account. That's why.

You don't need to use the support tree to remove it. The link to your license page was the place to easily click and remove it.
