Do you regret all hours/money spent on games?
Some gamers have a quite impressive amount of hours on some games, do you guys regret all hours spent on those games? I mean those hours amounts to a brown belt in BJJ or perhaps a degree or two in an online university etc also do you regret the amount of money you may have put into games? Some gamers could perhaps buy a decent car for that amount of money. Keep in mind that im talking about extreme cases and not the casual gamer.
Im not trying to offend anyone so please keep that in mind.

Not at all. Au contraire, gaming taught me loads aboit software and now I have a well-paid programmer job. Gaming made me earn (quite the) money!

No, only some.
I don’t regret my hours. But I do regret buying some games that I ended up not playing at all.

Pretty much I don’t bother buying new games anymore unless it’s something I really want and would play.

I sometimes stop and ponder that question. I have spent an obscene amount of money on my library over the last 7 years. The amount sometimes shocks me. I actually took the time about 6 months back to export my entire purchase history from steam and put it into an excel spreadsheet then did an autosum to tally my total spend and that was when I truly got hit between the eyes at the extent of my "investment" to Steam and to my gaming entertainment. Do I regret it? Honestly, no. Even though I admit there is no way I can ever play every game I have, nor can I get any of the play time back that I have used, I consider this my main hobby, I do not go out partying, I don't have any other real hobbies or interests that are time/money sinks like this is. So, I made my choice, I am a gamer at heart, I am a collector by nature and I know down to the dollar how much I have spent on steam since 2011 and though I can be a bit sheepish when people ask me how much I have invested I can talk about it and all I am trying to figure out now, is what happens after me. This is truly an investment. A long term one. A day in the not so far future will come where digital content like this will be reviewed as something that can be handed down and left to people. I see that day coming. We shall see where that goes because it makes little sense for a lifetime investment to be forgotten/erased because the owner dies. Why can't someone leave something like a Steam account behind for their children or loved one? Why let that investment go to waste? That is a topic for another time and another place.

Short answer: No I do not regret the time and funds I have spent on Steam.

I agree but if you're not subscribing to netflix or cabletv etc then the comparison can only be applied to "time" and not the amount money spent.

Money spent doesn't bother me either, time means more to me than money anyhow.

The amount of hours I've thrown into the CM/FM series (and especially CM 01/02) does frighten me a bit.

But regrets? Nope, not a bit.
