Permanently delete game from library?
I want to buy RDR2 Ultimate, but I own the base game and have 30+ hrs on it so I cant refund. Will permanently deleting allow me to do this without losing my saves and achieves? I only ask because since its a R* game you have to use their launcher to play. When I go to the store page to buy it it only gives it to me as purchase as a gift option and not purchase for myself because it detects I already own RDR2's base game.

Click the game in your Library view side panel.
Near the top is Support. Just below PLAY.
The permanent delete is just a glorified hide option as you retain the license.

However it should allow you to purchase a different version if you use it while keeping what you already have.

I know how to perma delete it, I was just wondering if by doing so it would allow me to purchase the ultimate edition and retain my save data

Ok. So it should allow me to purchase the ultimate edition and still keep my save data?
You'll basically be buying the ultimate edition extras for the cost and you'll get the same exact key to the base game you used previously.

Ok. So do I have to uninstall it before I do that? Or should I just do it on my laptop where it’s not installed?

You dont need to uninstall anything. After you removed the game from your account the PLAY button will change to a PURCHASE button in your library.
Just buy the Ultimate Edition and it should only download any data you were missing before.
