Mass Effect 2 "Direct3D failed to initialize".

I originally asked this in the Mass Effect 2 forum but it's an old game so i guess no one goes there anymore.

The game crashed on me and then when i tried to launch it again a message tells me that "direct3d failed to initialize" and the game won't load.
I tried a fresh install of the game and i'm still getting this message.

Any help would be appreciated.

All it took was to change my desktop resolution to something other than 1920x1080, restart my pc and then change it back to 1080.
Ok then lol.

You'll have to play the game in 2D instead.
