Path of Exile is a very popular mmorpg-diablo-like(?) on Steam that I would recommend checking out. It also has an interesting replay format. Additionally, sometime next year they will be supposedly be releasing POE 2 but your POE 1 stuff will still transfer over to POE 2 from what I've heard.

As far as longevity for other MMO games, I've lost trust in a lot of them. Since the kickstarter/early access boom, a lot of publishers and developers have done some pretty shady stuff and made a lot of shady promises, like Daybreak Games with the Everquest series.
To date, I guess if you're looking at longevity, WoW probably has the most longevity, popularity and active community and updated content. That said, I've never played WoW, it hasn't appealed to me and I don't like subscription games.
I'm pretty sure that there's a lot of content that you can do before getting into raids. And you could probably crank up the volume a bit and there's a bazillion macros, scripts and plugins for WoW, I'm sure there's hearing impaired stuff.

Again, just to be clear, I've never played WoW, I'm not an advocate of WoW and I don't personally recommend WoW. I just know that it meets the criteria of what you asked for. And there's massive communities for the game, including hearing impaired players, it's a very social affair, has tons of longevity.
I think the biggest hurdle would be, are you willing to pay 13 bucks a month, or whatever it is these days to play? If yes, well then there you go.

You just need to make up an account thingy and you're on your way to freedom.
It still has a ton of players last time I turned it on and it's free too. So that's a huge plus. You just need to pay if like you wanna get the biiggg ol' expansions (there's two at the moment) and like stuff from the online-y store but you can go around a huuuuggggeeee world and like do the regular story mode for free (which is also different in a lot of places depending on what race you pick and stuff. Also there's multiple character slots which is great).
There's a Halloween event too which is PERFECT AND HILARIOUS AND GREAT and a christmas (which is called Wintersday??) event and like other events. ALSO MOUNTS!!! LIKE STUFF YOU CAN RIDE ON!! YOU CAN DYE THEM TOO AND BUY REALLY PRETTY SKINS FOR THEM!!!!!!!!! BABBIIESSS!!!!
There's lots of cool world bosses too and stuff that always spawn at certain times too so you'll never be bored, like the Legendary Bandit Executioner! She (or he, depending on who spawns in) is great. Her boss theme slaps too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnn4gVO5f14
I used to ADORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hunting Executioners when I was bored. Like you'd just throw a message into Map chat, people would come, and then you'd swarm the Bandit bosses until she spawned (though you need a certain item I think for her to appear? I have one though). And when she's about to MAYBEEE spawn in after you've all defeated the regular Bandit boss, your heart stops for a few seconds and like everyone looks around and like everything goes silent but then if she appears, it's like in a HUGEEE explosion and THE MUSIC STARTS BLARING AND SHE SHOUTS "END OF THE LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" AND LIKE everybody panics and spams their attacks and stuff and says in Map chat over and over where she is and like turns on their Mentor/Commander icons so that they (the players) can be seen and like it's such an exciting and terrifying mess.
The Executioner is my favorite boss in- ooooooooooooooooo actually I really like the final boss in Path of Fire. I memed them for a bit with friends. But like the Executioner boss is amazing and I love she.
The game is still being updated/worked on too!! I'm like 99% sure, which is a huge plus. I mean like the full, complete, this-is-what-happens story isn't totally finished and like yeah, like I haven't checked the GW2 twitter in a while but like I know that they need(ed) to release at least ONE more expansion to tie up loose ends and finish the (current) story. After that they might start a new story or like even make a new Guild Wars game??????? That wouldn't be for a billion years though and it'd also require a bunch of money as opposed to them just continuing to work on GW2 and there'd always be players for this game since soooo many people *COUGH* like me *cough* have sunken so much money into it.
Also yeah, again. It's free so it's worth checking out if you feel like it!

Edit edit: I don't know if this matters too but the support team is REEEEEAAAALLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY good. I forgot the login details to my account years and years ago, forgot about the game (what with other games and stuff coming out) wanted to get back into this and I was able to reclaim my old account thanks to support since I had still kept my old copy of the game and stuff so I had the game key thingy. It was really good though coming back and I legitimately?? cried when I reappeared in this really low level area and saw my pet Alpine Wolf that I named Avalanche standing next to me and had a bunch of unopened mail.
Please get it, it's so good.
Edit again: YOU CAN DO STORY THING MISSIONS WITH PEOPLE TOOO!!!!! (U just need to all be in a party together and in the same area).
I remember doing some with friends, and like two ppl helped me get through one mission in Path of Fire. Also I played around with the Path of Fire final boss with a friend and we were laughing and reviving each other and restarting from checkpoints and stuff, it's so goodddddddddd.
ANOTHER EDIT: It seems right now you can get Heart of Thorns (one of the expansions) for free too if you buy Path of Fire on the online store! Heart of Thorns is GOOD and has a great story but like. Path of Fire is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better. I think you might??????? need to be level 80 too to be able to go to the worlds that the expansions are in??? But they come with a level 80 booster thing so you can use that right away.
Path of Fire is A++++++++++ though. Heart of Thorns is good if you like map events and like, searching for things and stuff. That world is mainly like that. I'm not a fan of it since I feel I mainly get like swarmed by AOE stuff. Path of Fire's world is like a money making paradise and the standard world is just a chill-out fun area with tons of famous bosses.
The expansions have lots of world/timed????? I don't know if I used that correctly. Like ones that spawn at certain times, bosses too. But the main like, non-expansion-y world's ones are amazing and lots of people always go to them so you can have a lot of fun exploring and fighting stuff and doing missions and story modes and puzzles and stuff that you find in the main world without having to spend money. It's all optional.
