Join a Group Chat Room Jump into a Group Chat Room on Steam

This quest does not work at all. i have been created a group chat and even try to join one, and the task is not complete. eny ideas whats wrong with this task.

I'll have to be 'that guy' but I'm also having this issue and have no further information to aid in finding the solution to this problem.

What I did was go into some public group like (Fanatical) and say "Hi". I didn't create chat or join private one thou.

been trying 10 groups now include Fanatical but nope

I had the same issue, I picked a random game and from the game page I joined the group chat and just said 'hi'. I did not get credit until I exited the group chat. This does not mean just X'ing out the window. You need to actually leave the chat through settings. Do this while you have the chatroom open. If you already left the chat, go to your friends list, the "Friends & Chat" window. Any group chats you are currently in will show up at the bottom of your friends list. Go back into one and in the group chat click on the Settings icon. There you be able to select and click to leave the group chat, and trigger your credit. Good luck

For some reason that didn't work for me. I guess it's just buggy?

Your client has to be in the ONLINE friends status. You can still join chats in offline or 'invisible' but the achievement only popped for me when I went online fully.

I'll try it a few more times, but it doesn't seem to be working with that either.

This also was not working for me and neither have any of the methods before that. Unfortunately seems buggy all around.

Just checked back on mine and now it is completed, not sure which method did it, but this is the last thing I tried.
