Bethesda.net
Hi all, I'd like to get other peoples opinion on Bethesda.net. I can't help but feel a little miffed about a few games not coming to steam (Rage 2 is a certainty, but Doom eternal isn't confirmed but it more than likely will be) In my opinion steam is where it's at for PC gaming so I'm I the only one that feels this way about the new client ?

It's Bethesda. Like Maryland.

yeah bro, feel the same way, looks to be a fantastic game too. I was really looking forward to it as I (unpopular opinion) enjoyed the first one.

I go where the games I want to play are. I have no issue with another platform as long as the game is good.

Bethesda does not have an established refund policy, so beware of buying games there. In Europe you could most likely sue them as their current policy is basically against the law, but who would do that and who has money for court fees.

Considering they said they plan to use the old Creation engine for the only game I care about (ES6) I'll pass on their future endeavors.

Actually no, the EU laws regarding refunds do not apply to digitally released goods.. as the European Union's own site says, that right is voided the second a download is initiated

So far, nothing has been released outside of Steam that I actually care about, so it hasn't even come to a real test. However, right now, I'm entirely ignoring non-Steam games -- GoG, Origin, UPlay and Humblebundle libraries merely exist due to giveaways, old EA games being transferred there, or because they attached a non-DRM download to a Steam-purchase.

Not buying/playing games from other platforms is like cutting off your nose to sprit your face. Your only hurting your own enjoyment by doing this.

They isn't a law for refunding digital products in europe that im aware off.

Actually there is, but the developers are within their rights to request the customer to waive that right when they purchase the product.
Which is exactly what Steam is doing.
They ask you to waive your legal rights to a refund and instead provide their own refund rules.
