Great games below $5?
Once again, I'm unicorn-hunting... looking for games that are both cheap and excellent. My limit is $5 per game; my bar of excellence is Terraria... on sale now for $4.99, and, by far, the best $5 I've spent on one game in my memory.

On a personal level, I have tremor, so I can't do really high-precision gaming. For instance: I love Hollow Knight, but I can't handle the post-game content, and can only take the end boss if I overprep and facetank him. I love Undertale, but can't beat Undine. Etc.

I like metroidvanias, RPGs, things that let me explore, farm, craft, fight, etc. I'm not into competition gaming, and generally play PvE. My current favorite franchises include Terraria, Borderlands, Darksiders, Skyrim, Hollow Knight, and Batman, just as an example of the flavor of games I play.

So, what great games are you surprised to see on-sale right now for $5 or less?

Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition is on sale ( if you don't have it already). Other than that there are Mass Effect and Knights Of the Old Republic games which are awesome!!

Really rate this game here, it's heavily inspired by Flashback and Another World, what the people with the rights to those games should have done with their time instead of releasing rubbish versions of Flashback and an unneccessary 20th anniversary of Another World.

Still one of the best puzzle games on Steam.

One of the best IMO. £5 for the complete pack is crazy value for money, add in longwar mod and you end up with an easy 100+ hours in this.

Your tastes are quite similar to mine, Hollow Knight is certainly one of my favourites. I've went back to a few metroidvanias recently since playing that and it just puts most games to shame. There's too many games sub $5 to name, that's for sure.
I picked this one up today for about $1.50. It is a Portal Style puzzle platformer. So far so good.

This one is a free short RPG, but I found the plot pleasant and you can't beat the price.

The Doom collection.

With Project Brutality, Ultimate Doom Visor and (optionally) the 3DO soundtrack, it's better than Bethesda's overrated Neudoom. (Although Project brutality v3 is still a WIP. You might enjoy version 2.03 more)

And aside from the 4 original wads, I'd also recommend Plutonia 2, Hell on Earth Starter Pack, Nerve.wad and Sigil.wad. And one of the Doom64 gzdoom ports.

You don't need to know the first game. The second is better in every way and there isn't a story that connects those games.
Game has a demo.

Haven't played a platformer for years, then this thing turns up after me getting into pinball last year. Unlike pinball, you don't need fast reactions. There is a free demo as well.

93 games on that list, many great games for less than 5 or even less. This list contains the 93 from of my 989 where i earned at least 1 achievement (well, that statistic not count profile limited games so played more) and those games i could recommend to anyone at any time.
Wow, this got some GREAT responses! Thanks, folks! I'm excited to see what else comes up! :cleanfloppy:
