Banished for MAC
I had a Dell computer for the longest time, and it finally went this past year. Husband, decided that he should get me an iMac, and most of my games are PC and not MAC. How can I play banished on my computer now?

You'd probably be best posting this in the Steam for Mac section, honestly. I'm sure there's a way - if the game itself doesn't have a mac version, there's always different boot options to simulate a pc's structure on a mac.

This is by far the easiest way.

I see no reason to get a Mac desktop ever, unless he only wanted to use the exclusive software, which is almost no better than what you can get on Windows side for free, or for cheap.

Unless your husband needs a Mac for work, because it's a requirement, then it make sense he get it, but if not, he only shooting his own foot off with a shotgun, as it would've been a way smarter idea to build his own computer, or pay a shop to put it together for you, or look around for a good deal. As normally iMac can cost as much as a decent gaming rig, that can smoke 95%+ what apple offers in comparison for everything on a desktop.

How much is his budget?

He thought that since I was using a MacBook Pro with my school that I teach at, he figured that getting me my own Mac product would be nice. He's a Windows (DELL) guy. He budget is much higher with his new job, and pay raise, however, at the time, he felt it was something I wanted.

Ah ok that explains why he wanted to get you a Mac, just tell him you want a gaming pc, instead of the Mac, if he hasn't gotten you the Mac yet. This way you get desktop with Windows on it. If need help picking parts to build a PC, or buying a pre-built just ask and we help you out, but we need to know the budget as well.

Funny enough, the title of your thread describes not only your issue with a specific game but also the overarching problem that you're experiencing.

Boot camp lags on most Mac's, try a program called "playonmac" it's free and easy to use, I can play allot of my windows only games on my Mac using t, note some games may have some graphical issues or not work at all, however it works fine for when I need it.

There another program called "crossover" and another one called parallels" they are paid programs and have better supporthiwever I have never used those last 2.

Mac os is way more secure than windows by the way.

From a Mac user if 5 years :goldenmilkminer:

Ya, I have been working at my school for 3 years, and I kept telling husand, "I really like the way my work mac looks all clear and runs smooth." When my computer went, he and my dad went shopping for a new one for me, and when I got home from work, there was a new computer. The first thing I did was download steam, and went to play banished. LOL. I will look into those softwares this weekend. I gotta get back to banished. That was my game to play when I feel stressed.

$1900 is a lot for a good PC. Start here... https://pcpartpicker.com/

1900 could make you a really nice PC.

You should also ask in the Hardware & OS section if you need/want help.
