Is there a way to tell who logged into your steam account?
I got onto steam this morning only ti find out iv'e been logged out and my credentials had been supposedly changed. I changed my password but i'm a bit worried now, is there a way to tell what I.P's have been on your account?

what is system supplied usernames and user supplied user names under machineauth? and is there no way to see the actual I.P's? so far under steam login history I only see my IP's but..

The only way an IP is given is in your email for when you log into Steam on a new device and it triggers the Steam Guard email for the code.

hmm...didn't get anything...weird. i just turned my PC from sleep mode and that happened...little concerned now but I did manage to change my password.

Under the system supplied usernames I see names that aren't mine(and that I recognize) I had a falling out with one of the people in that list so it's possible he's trying to hack into my account but I can't say for certain.

What does system supplied usernames mean anyway by the way? does that say who was recently on your PC or something? I only see names and no dates/times etc.

System supplied computer names is the PC name, when you set up a computer for the first time you have to name the PC.. if you want to see what yours is open up any folder on your PC, right Click "This PC" and go to properties, the "Computer Name" would be the system supplied name

You're not allowed to use a VPN connection when using Steam.

Yes I know but I am just trying to understand what that part means: https://gyazo.com/493a02dbec5778ff7fcdfa51e6964583

specifically the names not crossed out I am worried about. They may have done nothing at all but I have no idea why I woke up this morning to find my account logged out and credentials changed. I did not recieve an email of any suspicious I.P's. Thankfully it was easy enough to just use the steam mobiel auth to get back in but still..

Oh is that true? but then why would it log me out acting like someone changed my credentials?

I don't know. But you shouldn't even be doing this in the first place.

It shouldn't even matter to steam.

Well I have a right to use a VPN. I mainly just use it because I don't like my IP or anyone else collecting data on me.

Using a VPN is as insecure as it gets. Because how do you know the VPN provider isn't keeping tabs you? Using your own connection is save, using someone else's not so much.

As long as you stay within your State/Country and don't try to bypass any region restrictions, to purchase things at a lower price or to avoid the taxes on said purchases.

I don't really wanna discuss this. I guess it logged me out because of my VPN. But if they're ok with me using it in my region then i'll just set my VPN to my region or just stop my VPN services all together if it's that big of a deal for them.

Yeah I am in Canada but use an American I.P for my VPN.(it's just for privacy reasons I don't like people knowing where I live.) but it hasn't actually changed the pricing for the games on my store(they're all still in CAD) I hope I don't get banned now lol.

Yup! They can lock the account for that.

a VPN is only against the Steam rules when purchasing something.. while it is a gid no no to have on active when purchasing something, I don't think they really care for casual usage but I may be wrong with that..

as for the VPN, a VPN does have security concerns of its own just different.. the main concern there is whatever location it is being funneled through.. what VPN are you using? granted, I highly doubt that was the source of the leak..

I believe the one followd by a hashtag is the indentifier for the mobile app with the authenticator if memory recalls, as for the other two those would be the names of devices that have logged into your account at some point..

do the following:

Deauthorize all devices

Scan for Viruses and Malware (my preferred scanning methods are ESET and Malwarebytes, Malwarebytes while great has issues detecting certain types of Viruses (the team themselves say its not an anti-virus, but can work as an alternative one) so I like to use ESET Indepth custom scan as administrator first, then follow up with Malwarebytes.. if you ever download known Viruses off a repository and upload it to Virus Total, you will get situations where Malwarebytes is the only one that doesn't flag it)..

You changed the password on your phone so I suppose to reset from secure device step has already been done to an extent..

so you did have the apps 2FA activated already? hmm.. have you been logging into any "trading" or "gambling" sites? or at any point in time shared access to your account with anybody?
