Fake steam message notification?
So i got a fake steam message from a person who is not a friend of mine. It said something about a csgo website or something. I didn't click on the message since the sound was different and it was strange. Anyone else experienced this?

oh sorry didn't mean to type the website but im kinda concerned about how it was a different sound and i have that setting turned off too.

If it was within CS:GO then ignore msg, block and report the user.

I should probably be more specific about this. I don't know how to say this but it wasn't from steam I think or maybe it was. It was like a bootleg steam message with a different sound than the usual one. If it was from steam, I would be able to read the message again by clicking the window but there wasn't one. I'm probably talking nonsense and imagining things but it still concerns me.

Sounds like a virus, or a website popup.

Yeah just happened again already did a virus scan and nothing popped up

I guess, to be absolutely sure, you could shut down Steam and see if you keep getting the messages.

What about your running services/processes? Anything out of the ordinary there?

Just got it again and it said JackJack's fwiends and then the user's name

I checked someone on my friends list named JackJack and removed him and also found out that the user who messaged me was in his friend's list and was offline, probably set himself offline.

alright so i found out that it was some group chat i was in for some reason and thought it was a virus. Thank you for helping me though and appreciate your time helping me on trying to solve this.
