Any MMOARPG these days where your class actually freak'n matters?
Hey fellas.

So I remember back in the day when Dungeons and Dragons Online was a P2P game, and each class had it's very own importance. You needed the other class and couldn't solo most content. Unforunately, this is not DDO anymore for quite sometime.

I've spent years ever since then looking for another MMOARPG that has classes that actually MATTER in the game. I miss the days of having specialists, healers, tanks, dps... Why is everything so super casual now?

It doesn't need to be a hardcore game at all but I want my character and my class to actually matter in the party. I'm tired of all these games where it's just DPS racing.

INB4 someone recommends WoW. Please don't. Anything other than WoW.

Final Fantasy 14 has classes that matter but it also contains a lot of content desgned for solo and that force you to do it solo before the group content unlocks.

Also allows one character to be used as every class through its switching mechanics meaning less grinding to have an option to fill each role.

Warframe. There are a multitude of frames (or classes that you can collect and swap freely) and weapons. While many missions can be completed with almost anything, higher level missions as well as specific missions benefit massively from parties with certain frame/weapon combos.

Right... But none of the classes truly matter. It's a hack and slash game. Everyone is self sufficent.

And that's why I don't play FF14, because it's basically a solo player mmorpg.

Until you have played thousands of hours of Warframe and are at the point where you can kill almost everything solo, which means a heavy investment in time, then frametypes, weapons, specific mod types do indeed still matter.

If you're able to get maxed out mods for a certain Warframe like Rhino you will be powerful enough to handle basically everything.

I'm not kidding either, Rhino is perfect at most things except vast AOE damage and a bit unsuitable for solo defense. You can still do Defense but you need to kill enemies quicker.

For weapons you really could just get Arca Plasmor and call it a day once you've maxed it out with normal mods.

If you follow some guides on builds and get all of the stuff for it you'll have a really powerful Warframe with a powerful weapon that you can always rely on dealing with everything in the game.

Maxing out mods and slots and weapons and weapon mods and weapon slots takes a helliva lotta time and grind, especially for casual players. I love me some Arca Plasmor but its not effective for everything, especially those adaptive resist enemies.
