How to disable steam censorship in my own comment section
Hello. I would like to know if there is a way to disable the "heart emojis" replacing the curse words on my profile. I like to know the difference between someone calling me a "NO SWEAR ZONE" or a "NO SWEAR ZONE".

Just to clearify, I'm asking if there is a way I can personally disable this for myself, not asking for steam to get rid of it all together.

Gee. I mean is irt really that critical to be able to swear. is not being able to call someone a ●●●●●●●●●●●●● or a ●●●● ●●●●● ●●●●●●●●●●●● really that much of a harsh to your mellow OP?

It's less about me calling people swears, and more about censorship on my own profile. I can understand it in the discussion forums, as a lot of people come here asking questions and not feelilng like being called something offensive for it. But on my own profile I feel like I should be able to see all the trash available to me.

I can have my profile picture be a nazi, my name be "something offensive" and have meme garbage in my description. Not that I have done the first two examples listed, but I like the option of being able to.I have all these customization options open to me, and yet I can't see swears in my comments?

It just doesnt make sense to me that I can't do it in my own comment section, that's all.

I MIGHT also have an alt account that I've ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on for 4 years and now there are 600+ comments on there that make no sense. Maybe.

Blaze, I've read through this and its about the Steam forums, not about Steam profiles. I understand that you can't have a profile like this if you're posting on the forums.

The rules counts for the entire steam community that also includes the user profiles.

It's not really your profile. It's a profile abouit you managed and hgosted on Steam's Systems.

Actually all the things you listed are reportable offenses.

Yup, you're both right. Profiles are apart of the Steam Community and, therefore, have to follow the guidelines. But then comes my next question. If comments on profiles are censored, then why arent names? I can't comment the "C" word without it getting censored, but I can make my name it. I know the "N" one is censored on names, but a majority arent.(C,B,S,F,D ect.)

Maybe I'm looking too deep into this, and I apologize in advance if I am.

As Tito mentioned in different threads, it was more a bug in the system that profiles weren't censored. That's now fixed.
We should see a fix to the profile names also somewhere in the future, albeit at Valve time.

Names that contain those words get forcibly changed when bough to the attention of the Steam staff through reports and if they have to change someones name too often they take away the option to change it yourself for a while too.

What you are seeing isn't Steam letting you have those names just that the automatic blocks aren't working there and it all needing to be done manually and Steam not being able to go through every profile quick enough to catch them all combined with a lot of users not bothering to report them.
Alright, I understand why now. Thanks for clearing the air everyone, I appreciate it!
