will deleting the game shortcuts on my desktop delete the games?

i have too many steam game shortcuts on my desktop and they are starting to take up a lot of room. So i want to delete the shortcuts that go to the games but i am worried it will delete the games themselves and im just wondering if deleting the shortcuts deletes the games as well...

No, just launch the games from their entries in the Steam software's Library page instead of using your desktop shortcuts.

thats what i always do i never use the shortcuts because i think it dosnet give you the hours played on the game that you launched from the shortcut

You can also uncheck the box when you install the next game "Create destop shorcut."

Lol. No, it won't. They're called shortcuts for a reason.

All a shortcut does is link to an application somewhere else on your system. Deleting a shortcut will not delete the application it's linked to.
