gaming is dull I'm getting old what's going on
back when I was a kid I would game none stop, finsih same game multiple times until I master it, my parents told me you will outgrown them and I laughed at the notion cause I knew I will always game even at 70 I'd retire and game all day and night,

Turned out parents are right and its a slow and painful proccess that takes years.

I got viral sickness last couple of days got week sick leave, downloaded 10 games from my library can't get into any of them, every time I run one 10-30 mins later boring predictable unimmersive sht I think I have finally outgrown gaming I'm too old for that stuff and I'm just 28, it was my favorite hobby now it's too dull for me I lost my favorite hobby and can't get it back

I'd say don't worry about making permanent, final judgements of yourself like "I've outgrown this", and don't worry about "getting it back". Not feeling like playing games at the moment doesn't mean you've "outgrown games" any more than not feeling like watching a movie means you've outgrown movies, or not feeling like rice for dinner means you've outgrown rice. :)

It's entirely normal for a healthy human mind not to be satisfied doing the same kind of activity for extended periods. If you don't feel like playing games, then read a book, go for a walk, bake a cake, write a story, see a friend, plant some vegetables, whatever you feel like. And then when you don't feel like doing that thing anymore, do the next thing you feel like doing - maybe in a little while you'll feel like playing a game, maybe you won't, but the important thing is to play games because it's what you want to do at the time, not because you feel obligated to.

It may also be just the kind of games you're playing. I don't know you or what you play, obviously, but sometimes people keep playing the same few genres because they think "well, that's what I like", even though the brain is giving you boredom to tell you "hey, no, we've done enough of these for a while, we're not learning anything new here, let's get out of the comfort zone a little and try something unusual".

It does seem as you get older, your patience and taste in games decreases at least from my experience.

I'm sure there are games out there which you may like. Just have to do more sifting as you browse the store.

It's just the games made these days are boring multiplayer copy pastes.

listen, you still have ur fav hobby. its not you. its the industry. the people who are making games now are the same age as you.. give or take. so they know what you like ( or grew up liking). its all about money when it comes down to it. im pretty sure you heard the sayin " if its not broke, dont fix it"... and thats how this industry is being run. they aint gonna change sh*t till its broke. and guess what? if stupid muthaf*ckers gonna still pay $60 for a copy ( yes, a f*ckin copy. you dont own sh*t) for games like call of duty or gta v ( is gta v still $60 ?) things will always be dull for people with a working brain.

Also, you're ill, so ... um, don't you think maaaaaybe that your body being physically inhibited from much normal activity has something to do with your lack of enthusiasm for games?

Sleep it off, don't force yourself to game when you aren't into it. It's like literally any other activity. Take a break.

I was like you for a bit, then I discovered the indie/AA gaming scene and was fully rejuvenated into gaming. I ignore AAA gaming except for maybe 1 AAA game a year, if that. I have found so many PC gaming goodness in the indie/AA scene, the type of games that bring me back to that feeling I had when I was younger playing games.

If you are playing a lot of AAA games, then the main problem is that AAA gaming is basically the same games over and over and over again, creativity and innovation do not exist in the AAA gaming scene of the most part, those games are not made for the love of gaming and with passion.

So my suggestion is to ignore the AAA, and start to pay attention to the indie/AA market.
I agree with many people on this thread so far, especially this guy. AAA games, for the most part, are just lame these days. They get you all excited because they look so good, but they end up being painfully mediocre. For the most part, it's the indie games that end up being breathtaking experiences.

Obviously there are plenty of exceptions for both AAA and indie, but that seems to be how I feel lately.
