Can my friends watch me playing without me knowing?
I had a friend comment on something I did in-game without me having the slightest clue that he was watching me. In my broadcast-settings I have checked the "notify me when friends are watching option," but I never did get any notification... This has happened before as well... Could my computer be hacked?

You might be in the "Do Not Disturb" -mode. It disables every notification from steam.

Your friend may have seen you getting an achievement. Or you may have missed the notification.

Achievements are in the activity feed; broadcasts can be set to allow friends to join and its easy to miss the pop up, but...not the chat, right?

Perhaps he arranged to have a camera installed in a corner in your room and is watching you. :paperdeath:

Perhaps you play a game which allows spectators? Like the old Counter Strike? No idea if spectators are still a thing today.

Or you played a game which records the game and the recording is public? I think CS is one of these where it is like this. Not sure though. I don't like games without ironsights.
