Because it's a waste of money. Why bother spending a whole load of money on something that isn't going to be used much?
If I had a PS4, Xbox One and Switch in front of me right now, I highly doubt I would ever touch the consoles. They would just be collecting dust.
people may recall that before the ONE was announced, XBOX gamers were excited about an "XBOX 720"... M$ should've taken note here for what gamers really wanted was the same console only more powerful... they wanted a bigger HD and better graphics to move forward into the "next generation"...
instead we got an oversized cellphone of sorts... I won't even get into the Kinect (remember that?) but the fact that games which I'd all ready owned would no longer be compatible was the clincher for me... not to mention that the Xbox Avatars were shrunk to microscopic size where you could no longer even read 'The Beatles' on your exclusive Collector's Edition 'Beatles RockBand' T-Shirt... why? to make room for advertisements?!
they even messed with the 360 controller which is STILL the best controller out there, in my opinion... if I really had a problem with DRM then I wouldn't be here on Steam but M$ took it to another level with the ONE... now I realize that Microsoft has done much since the ONE's launch to rectify some of the problems fans were angry about (backwards compatibility, mandatory Kinect, etc.) but it was a case of "too little, too late" for me...
looking back now I can honestly say that I'm happy with the way that things have turned out... I could never go back to console gaming ever again... the PC IS the definitive gaming platform... hands down... even the so called "exclusives" that consoles plug is complete nonsense... the two highly touted "exclusives" by the PS4 & ONE ('No Man's Sky' & TitanFail') for their respective launches were also made available to PC users... and in the case of 'No Man's Sky', the console is absent of the Steam Workshop content which greatly add to the experience...
M$ turned me off of XBOX Forever and no amount of free games or sugarcoating of the turd that it is will ever change that... I've been quite enjoying from a distance the buttkicking that the PS4 has delivered to them... the abomination that is Windows 10, with their mandatory updates and all, has shown to me that M$ hasn't changed their ways... they even took a great character like Cortana and turned her into virus to which there is no cure... Good Riddance to XBOXLive and thanks for the memories...:-)
