There is no real con to the player to have multiple storefronts......
I am from Malaysia. Steam offers many features including currency localization. Battle.net used to have currency in SGD but no longer and other digital store front does not have this.
Also, the features in steam not only brings community closer but we can find people who can offer help to make friends that plays games together.
Of course having multiple store front is great as it supports open market but forced monopolization and exclusiveness drives people into groups.
Multiple store front should mean all games are available on all store fronts. This way buyers can choose to buy on which ever platform or store front they prefer.
because they put their new game Rage 2 on steam.
Now please bethesda put Fallout 76 on steam, before the upcoming summer sale (with a big discount).Thanks.
What!? Activision and Ubisoft would be no longer in Steam, particularly the new ones?
How so? I don't see any pre-orders. Last was Anno and that was like put on Steam long ago before the sage erupted. Also Ubi was boasting how Epic was great and doing better than expected. Where have you read about the rocky relationship?
i think the whole BO4 ordeal was more of a testing the waters to see how well it could sell
Oh and Ubisoft didn't say Epic was doing great only that Division 2 sold more than the first game (which is a no brainer) and that they had very good figures from the Uplay launcher.
Disregard EGS, if Ubisoft can proof that sales are still strong by swaying away from Steam and sustaining on their own store front, more and more publishers will do so.
And in the end, ESG will simply be a stepping stone in the process and all the money they dishes out will be some sort of guarantee/bonus to these publishers.
