something illigal in inventory?

I was contacted by a person who was on my friends list who told me when they checked my profile it has something about possible illegal stuff or something in the trade or something. Well for one I've NEVER EVER TRADED and two I have some old inventory stuff from Just Survive that is no longer usable and has a red ! mark on them and I have no way of deleting them from my inventory. Can anyone explain this and tell me how to do it if it's even possible?

its a scam, report the person who contacted you

common scam tactic. they tell you their is a problem, then have you contact someone that they claim works for steam. then this "steam rep" takes your stuff or steal your account after you hand over the items or log in.

there is no such thing as duped items, no item verification, and steam will not contact you. if there was a problem, steam would ban the account and then you would contact steam support to sort it out. no warnings, no moving items around. if steam needed to fix an item in your inventory (everything is digital, so every item is the same) they would just remove it and replace it if they wanted to, and you would never know it happened.

thank you all and i thought it might be. that person is no longer on my friends list after they said that and i told them i'd take care of it. i figured that was a possible scam which i quickly stopped when they said they'd send something that steam said and i'm like no that's fine i'll deal with it.
