You can apply a few filters here:
https://store.steampowered.com/account/preferences

Other than that, there is no "only show me AAA games" option.

Generally, the Top Sellers contain only the most famous games. Sometimes you get really famous indie games, like Cuphead or Undertale or Goat Simulator, but generally speaking, most games that make it that big are ones that are supported by big development and publicity budgets -- stuff put out by companies like Activision, Capcom, Square-Enix, Ubisoft, etc.

You can also filter out things with the "indie" tag, though there is no "AAA" tag to specifically filter for.

Thing is, there isn't exactly much agreement what "AAA" means. At least with "indie" people cay agree it's about being self-published and/or not being funded by an external publisher. But...

Well, I guess I can ask.

What do you mean by "AAA titles"?

Alternatively, would you consider this game to be "AAA"?

Or this. Technically not an A game (I omnit the 2 other As as they're meaningless) but it could just as well be.

I usually just use a term like "big-name" or "famous" or "popular" or "big-budget", depending on what meaning I want.

I am underlining your point for the OP. An A game can mean whatever the person talking about A games want it to mean without it being a meaningful term. Isn't that exactly what you're trying to say?

I'm not talking about "A games", whatever this phrase means when used by other people; I'm talking specifically about the phrase "AAA games".

Now they can't be used to mean anything ever -- there are clearly limits. It wouldn't be used to describe something like Cave Story, for example, as it was developed on the developer's own time, effort, and funding.

But it's been my experience that, while "AAA game" can be used to refer to anything with the backing of a major publisher, including publishers' own first-party games, people often use it to refer to certain types of games.

Which makes sense, because publishing models generally aren't very directly relevant to gameplay. What is relevant is, for example, do you get some expansive 50+ hour open world RPG that can flex the muscle of the latest graphics cards in displaying beautiful environments and boasts a score featuring contributions from Hans Zimmer or John Williams, vs. a pixelated 2D platformer with a chiptune soundtrack. Major publishers just don't much fund anything like the latter anymore, despite the fact that they did so (and even made some of them personally) back in the 80s and 90s.

When people say they want an "AAA" game as opposed to an "indie" game, they usually actually mean something like this.

Look dude, all I tried to do was to agree with you on A games (I don't use the term "AAA games" as the 2 As are redundant) being to loose of a term. By now, I wonder why I wanted to agree with you because you seem to be high on disagreeing with me for whatever reason.

Sorry if you felt I was arguing with you, because I certainly didn't intend that.

I was just sharing my thoughts on the topic of what "AAA" means. I had to clarify I was talking about not your usage of the term (or your personal variant "A games" which I've never seen anyone else use), because I was speaking generally about its usage.

Start tagging games with an AAA tag and you can search/filter on them.

As the others display, it's a subjective term. Valve isn't going to choose which games fit or don't fit. Consumers have to, they use the term.

Sometime I’d like to see someone who’s so enthusiastic about the meaningfulness of the term “AAA” apply it to another set of games or leisure activities.

Проблема в том что рейтинг набивают. Лучше бы добавили опцию показывать, где не меньше допустим 500 обзоров. Инди игры бывают очень хорошими.

The problem is that the rating is stuffed. It would be better to add an option to show where there are at least, say, 500 reviews. Indie games can be very good.

They should also add categories to the wishlist. It's not very convenient to sort there. Now I leave games that are more likely to be no than yes in the search, I hide average ones in subscriptions, I hide the ones I like the least with the tag "I played this on another platform", and I just hide the ones that are not mine at all. It's terribly inconvenient, shameful for a platform like Steam.
