Unsolicited Chinese language tagged friend requests
I know all that needs doing is blocking and ignoring them, but I thought I'd just mention that I and my friends have been getting these lately, me 3 in the last month.
I assume there's a bot doing it and it cant be anything good.

for example..

Spam bots and phishing bots.

Report, block and move on.

but of course. It was only the suddenness of it that warranted any mention at all.

Hello guys, seems that I am not alone who experience same problem. I usually cancel an incoming request, block the profile and will report this profile for further check, but Steam claims that such profile won't get banned. What is the purpose of reporting profiles when no action is taken? :steamfacepalm:

What's about the separate client for China? Still in development?

I get Chinese contact requests every nod and then. Why the ♥♥♥♥ do you guys think they're all scammers? They're often people trying to reach out to the outside world. I'm definitively the wrong guy for that (I suck @ small talk and I quickly get weirded out when someone doesn't tlak to me in a normal way with Chinese English being, let's say, a rather unusual interpretation at best).

Adding you isn't a banable offense.

I didn't say that every person in the Asia continent is a scammer, but I can't guarantee anyone that Steam accounts with a VAC or Game ban are considered as pure players. This was the seventh time I received such a friend request, always from another Steam account. Do you think it is common for someone to bully this way? Be so nice and check my Steam profile because it is not so difficult to give a reason in the comments section before submitting a friend request.

Bruh, if you like to mate with anyone, here is my list of blocked steam community profiles I collected so far:

  1. https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197995537072
  2. https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198188258525
  3. https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198390753787
  4. https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198810744296
  5. https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198802155718
  6. https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198432062896
  7. https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198845489505
  8. https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198855404881

If you still think that it is alright to send friend request from such accounts where is clearly put in the nickname some suspicious hyperlink and I am not gonna to talk about meaning of their nicknames at all...

Im relatively certain they are scammers because they have tiny game libraries, nothing I play, and very little activity. I've got a few Chinese contacts from various games, they weren't "reaching out" we just liked each other's playstyle and level of respect.

What's the point of reporting? They all have the same obvious form, steam could be auto-ffiltering them or just the friend reqs in bulk, obviously not willing.

This, the bots are all incredibly similar and could be stopped easily. I've got 4 requests in the past 5 days.

Maybe consider updating your profile privacy by hidding your games from public profile. I did it and also removed games collection showcase from my profile and these bot requests stopped. Once I reverted these things back, it started again. =)
