Should I sell my consoles?

As of right now My specs are:
GTX 650 1 GB
I5 2500
4GB RAM
240W PSU
OPTIPLEX 790 MINI CASE
(No lid)

My pc is and has been broken for a while. The GPU is supposedly corrupted, and appears to have stopped working to its full potential and instead is much... much worse that a worse than a GT 630.

My PSU is loud as hell.

My computer constantly crashes from as little as getting out of fullscreen on YouTube and changing the settings on a game down (if the game somehow loads)

And it won’t load the desktop or any processes unless I manually run “Explorer.exe”

(Will getting a different GPU and OS help me or do I have to buy a completely new system?)

I really want to get a better pc but the consoles have some pros and I would feel really bad if I sold them because my parents bought the consoles for me and I really appreciate that.
(They did ask me what I wanted for Christmas and my bday though. But they got consoles)

PC

Pros:
•Better for gaming and productivity
•A few of my Xbox and irl friends have a pc
•frequent sales and no psn or live
•Exclusives
•Many more

Cons:
•Sell ps4 and/or Xbox
•Won’t work unless I manually open Explorer.exe
•Very small case
•PSU is crazy loud
•And more

PS4
Pros:
•Exclusives

Cons:
•Controller sucks
•No friends on ps4
•Menu sucks

Xbox

Pros:
•A few friends only on Xbox
•Easier to use right now (“I’m not sure if the pc would be better when I upgrade, at the moment it crashes when I do most things.”
•More games as of now
•Won’t break as easily (idk what happened to my pc)

Cons:
•No good exclusives
•Does everything the pc can do but worse

Unless you are willing to invest 800-900 on a new pc, id stick with consoles. You require a complete rebuild, nothing is really salvageable from your old pc.

My brother might be getting a new CPU so I could have his. Would getting a CPU, GPU, PSU and OS be enough to get it to work?

I have both the OS and PSU but I was going to wait until I got the GPU.

what is his CPU? I have doubts that it would fix your socket type.. at the same time, is PSU would have to be the same form factor.. the GPU would likely have to be low profile.. and even then, 4GB of RAM just won't cut it these days..

and given your symptoms, I am not sure your RAM or HDD are even in a usable state,,


sorry to tell you, but there really isn't much of that build worth salvaging, you'd be looking at a new build if you want to game

then get one.. paper route (or deliver flyers), shovel driveways, help elderly people with groceries, walk peoples dogs, tell your parents you will do chores in exchange for allowance..

there are tons of ways for a kid to make some spending cash (and the earlier you start, the better it will actually look on your resume once you get older)..


your build just isn't worth salvaging if you plan to game, its old and low end.. at the same time, you aren't going to get enough from selling some used consoles to buy a decent prebuild or build a replacement (or even get your build half functional from your list of issues)..
