Recommend me a game please!
I am looking for a good immersive game. One that can be like a second life so to speak. A game with housing, potential marriage candidates, preferably open world, etc.

I have enjoyed Most of the elder scrolls games, Fable 2 and 3, Dark and light, The harvest moon games.

Really just anything with engaging npcs and the ability to do day to day tasks on top of whatever the base gameplay may be like

if your not afraid of old game:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/48700/Mount__Blade_Warband/

I own 2 of the 3 but I have heard good things about Deus ex. However it seems like it focuses too much on the action. I like the games where I may engage in combat but I am also able to travel to my home and just craft things for a while if that's what I want to do. Deus ex seems cool but not something I could be immersed in. Loved new Vegas and mount and blade though. Tons of Npc interaction and plenty to do when not fighting

I have that on steam and switch! Good game but I feel that I could never quite get as immersed in that as I could Harvest Moon or Animal crossing. There just seems to be a lack of activities to do after some time and the fact that there are no real goals to achieve kind of bogs it down. I also enjoy a game with combat, just not one that centers around it. But I certainly got my money out of stardew valley, it just didn't feel very immersive.

Deus ex its a great game for his time. But yeah its more action with some rpg elements.
I heard of the witcher serie you can like i think but i never really played.
The Witcher creates a nice world but being a preset character kind of hurts the immersion point for me. The Witcher 3 also has a horribly long and unnecessary start up that has always put me off
zenko 2018 年 1 月 3 日 下午 7:00
I never played witcher game, i just heard of it. But its not easy to find all that in one game...

Not really sure its the kind of thing you are looking for...

Apologies on the long post! I would recommend the Trails Saga. And specifically Trails in the Sky, as it is the first game in the Trails franchise.

This may not be exactly what you are looking for as it does not meet the following:

It's also not an openworld RPG with action combat, but is a story-driven series with turn-based combat. The localizers of the Trails games is XSEED Games/Marvelous USA the same localizers that did Story of Seasons (Which used to be known as Harvest Moon, if I'm remembering correctly) for the 3DS.

But what it most certainly does meet is:

Trails has the most immersive world of any game I've played, albeit it is very different than the type of open world you seem familiar with.

As for NPCs, that is one of the things Trails games are most known for! One of the things this franchise is most known for is its constantly updating NPC text, which changes after every major plot advancement. All the NPCs (with a few exceptions) have names and stories going on throughout the whole game that you can choose to follow.

The last thing I will cover regarding gameplay is the side-quests. Some side-quests are mandatory while most are optional. Both mandatory and optional side-quests are indicated in the Bracer Guilds on the job listings board. Some optional quests are hidden and are known as ‘hidden quests’. These quests will not show up on the board and must be found by exploring and talking to NPCs Side-quests are a very integral and necessary part of these games plot. They help you to learn about each place you visit and allow you to gain an understanding of how Liberl and its people function. The side-quests in-game provide more than just money and the usual perks, they reward you with more lore and a deeper understanding of the world.

Two other manners of side content in this game are the collecting and filling up of your Recipe Book and Monster Guide. Over the course of the game you can fill these up by doing varying things and fighting various monsters. Getting new recipes will also allow you to cook food which can then be used as items.

A lot of the side content in these games is just simply talking to NPCs and following their stories. Some of them will have hidden quests which you can only do for a limited time, and some will perhaps provide you with a new issue in one of the games collectible book series, or maybe they will simply provide humorous comments on whatever situation you may find them in. The NPC stories continue throughout the game, and some of the NPCs you may even find have traveled to different towns!

Trails isn't all about the side content and gameplay, though. It is very mainly focused on its characters and world-building. Because these games are more linear than those other games you mentioned, and the fact that these games are much more story based than those other games as well, might mean that this isn't exactly what you had in mind. But these games are very much immersive and have the best NPCs I know of.

The Trails franchise is an 8+, and going on 9+, ongoing game saga where all the games take place on the same continent within a few years of each other. The Trails games have the best characters, world-building, and writing I have ever seen in a video game. As well as one of the most immersive and well-developed worlds.

They are slow-paced, text-heavy, story and character driven Turn-based RPGs with a strong focus on writing, lore, and world-building.

The first game in the series is Trails in the Sky (Sometimes called FC or First Chapter): http://store.steampowered.com/app/251150/The_Legend_of_Heroes_Trails_in_the_Sky/

The next game in the series after that is Trails in the Sky SC (Which stands for Second Chapter):

*Store Page $29.99 $19.49 (-35% OFF)

And after is Trails in the Sky the 3rd (Not called "Third Chapter" due to the nature of the game):

*Store Page $29.99 $22.49 (-25% OFF)

*The reason I am linking these two entries in this way, instead of the way I linked the first Sky and Cold Steel games, is because the synopsis/description of these games contain spoilers as they expact you to have played the previous games before looking into the sequels.

The last game in the series currently available on PC is Trails of Cold Steel: http://store.steampowered.com/app/538680/The_Legend_of_Heroes_Trails_of_Cold_Steel/

Trails of Cold Steel II is confirmed to be getting a PC port and is on track for a 2018 release. It will most likely release sometime within the next few coming months.

You can start with either Trails in the Sky FC or Trails of Cold Steel, but you cannot start with SC, the 3rd, or CS II (Cold Steel II) since they assume you've played the previous game before them.

If you wish to know more about Trails in the Sky FC, I wrote a spoiler-free FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) for it on its Steam Discussion Boards. You can check it out to see if it sounds like the game fore you: http://steamcommunity.com/app/251150/discussions/0/1480982338965272722/

And if you wish to know more about Trails of Cold Steel, I also wrote a spoiler-free FAQ for that game on its Steam Discussion Boards (Where it is also pinned) so you can check this out to see if it sounds like game for you: http://steamcommunity.com/app/538680/discussions/0/2592234299559789411/

These FAQs are meant to inform newcommers as to "Everything they need to know" about these games.

If this series sounds like something you might be interested in, I also wrote a spoiler-free "Guide to the Trails Saga" that is meant to explain to newcommers what this series is, a little of its history, what games are in the series, and what the best play orders are. You can check it out here on Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1189425609

The Trails Saga is not only my favorite RPG series of all time, but also my favorite game franchise of all time. These games aren't for eveyone as they are very long games that are slow-paced and require a lot of reading, but they are also known as some of the best written games out there!

All these games are currently on sale and, in my opinion, there really isn't a better time to jump into the series. If you haven't already, I'd recommend you check out anything by Falcom: http://store.steampowered.com/search/?term=falcom There are a lot of Falcom games you could look into and every single one of them is fantastic!

Nihon Falcom are one of the oldest game devlopers still around today -- even older than Square! They specialize in Action RPGs (In fact, Falcom are one of the pioneers of the ARPG genre as they created some of the very first true Action RPGs), as well Turn-Based RPGs. Falcom are best known for creating the Trails franchise and the Ys franchise. (Trails being known for being slow-paced and story focused and Ys being know for being fast-paced and gameplay focused)

Whether you choose to try out the Trails Saga or not, I hope you found this post helpful. And if you do decide to try out this series, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Happy Gaming! :)

By my friends' feedback, ELEX might be the game you're looking for.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/411300/ELEX/

Can't confirm this myself, sadly, because it's either scenario either gameplay in the game for me, so the only "immersive" things for me are VN's.
