Regifting a gift
Hello! So I had a friend buy me a game so that I could give the game to my dad and take advantage of the deals while away on vacation. However, there doesn't seem to be an option to accept the gift into gift inventory (only to add it to my library).

Is there a way to regift this game myself or do I need to decline the gift and have my friend send it to the final destination?

No, that is no longer possible since May. Before that you could store gifts in your inventory and then gift them to someone else, now you can only send the gift right at checkout to someone on your friendlist. If the friend accepts the gift it gets automatically added to his library, if he declines the game gets refunded to the payment method used to buy it.
