steam lock for photo of adolf hitler
I am asking you for my reply to my removal of my avatar
I'm apologizing.
It has over 20,000 people on the steam, why do not they have it removed?
and why 60,000 people have the image of Joseph Stalin who killed 4 times as many people as Hitler, including my grandparents?
If you are to apply the law, apply it to everyone and not only to some because such a law is not a right.

Content Rules
Do not post any content on Steam containing the following:
Porn, inappropriate or offensive content, warez or leaked content or anything else not safe for work

That's what gets it banned.

offense is subjective. just because you are offended doesnt make you right and them wrong. it makes you incapable of dealing with your emotions. why should others have to suffer cause you cant handle something?

again, i wasnt offended. but because 1 or 2 people are he gets punished. backwards process.
also thats not in the rules i copy pasted directly from steams code of conduct.

you being offended is not against the rules and it also doesnt make you right.

i am in no way offended by a picture of hitler. now what?
Well the rule states there shouldn't be any offensive avatars, and an avatar of Hitler is offensive to me

and this is why its backwards. just because you are offended the rest of us should take heed? thats an extremely selfish and self righteous attitude. get over yourself.

guaranteed you ignore any of this guys reports now. you'll see a previous ban and ignore anything else.
The report simply puts the avatar on a list to review. It doesn't matter who reported it. The reporter isn't factored into the decision of whether or not an avatar is inappropriate.

lmbo right? contradictions and hypocrisy abound in steam moderation.
Could you shut up for once?
He´s breaking the rules. Stop making excuses for him. He´s being a ♥♥♥♥, and you are defending him.

It´s just pathetic.

Just because a bunch of users is using similar/same content doesn't mean it's allowed by any means.

There certainly is inappropriate stuff out there if you go searching for it. I would encourage you to report posts, profiles, or content that is in violation of the rules. We operate off of reported items. Thanks.

Indeed it is subjective and that's why it requires human moderation. So they have to decide what they think is and is not acceptable on a platform they consider to be family friendly. I would apply a simple test premise of "If you set this avatar and name at a bowling alley and other customers see it and complain, who do you think the management would side with and why?"

Feel free to contact support and discuss with them. Your avatar wasn't even removed by a moderator. Someone in support removed it.

then steam should go through the effort of actively removing any of the hitler avatars and usernames DESPITE reports from the users.
Unfortunately that's not feasible due to the high volume of accounts. There is certainly some proactive moderation (something actioned without a report), but it won't get everything.
I wish there were more people like Pink Richards.

Given there's a finite number of images of Hitler, Stalin and other dictators, it's actually quite feasible to run image recognition algorithms and automatically ban the offenders. You'd still get a subgroup who'll do anything to dodge it and get that image up, but most would take the hint and stop doing it.

Funnily enough though, they may be in violation of German law: https://www.loc.gov/law/foreign-news/article/germany-social-media-platforms-to-be-held-accountable-for-hosted-content-under-facebook-act/

*sigh* Then why don't you marry him?

Of course he is right, but the is also wrong. That's why I asked him to keep his tongue. Which he didn't. And he bloody well knows what I'm talking about.
