Ironic you are whinning about Windows 10 when the fault lies with the Steam client for not creating the icons properly.
Also you are claiming you cannot fix this issue yet there are several threads where it explain that you have to manually change the icon to what it should be by navigating to where Steam has installed the game.
well " myself changed the icon, I know where they are, and I even did the steps here too, and I am on crappy windows 10 too, but even when you change the games icons it still does not "Launch" the games using the shortcuts for desktop to do it, I can only launch any of the games on steam I brought and downloaded for Free, through Steam launcher no place else !
