Is it just me or is it hard to find a mature co-op partner?

Okay maybe it's just me. Maybe I creep people out. Weird, 'cause I'm female.

Anyways,
I asked many times, all I get are thirsty guys. I'm looking for "mature" people. Which groups would you advise me, places I could look for?

I find very hard to find good co-op partners (btw I'm +30) if you don't already know them IRL :(

I can only play L4D2 and Saints Row 3 and 4 at the moment, due to having a low-end computer I cannot run The Forest with decent framerate. I can also play Insurgency coop mode :)

Good to know :) To be honest, I'm reluctant about private profiles, but it's because I had huge issues with people with private profiles in the past.

If steam had no public profiles, would that make users bad?

I could say, majority of private profiles means this or that.
But i cant verify it, therfore its not a fact that i could see.

A private profile is best to see a ban, btw. Because there is not much else :D

I'm probably older than you. Dead Island isn't my favourite but I can play it. Torchlight 2 is on my "to instal" list so if you're happy to take on a novice that would be cool.

Can I recommend "Depth" ? Currently Steam free weekend but at £3.74 a great game at a great place.

Still love TF 2 - Payload and Halloween. I'm hoping Valve will do something mega for the 10th anniversary.

I've got a huge post history and over 30 reviews which will give you a fair idea of what I'm about.

No, it wouldn't. But a majority of "hackers" and "cheaters", scammers etc. They have bans, and are hiding them with the private profile function.

You can't hide a ban no matter if its VAC/game/trade, it will allways be visible, yes even on profiles set as private/friends only.

For me (as a woman) it wasn't about hackers or cheaters, it was liars, hypocrites, perverts, and judgemental people. I have nothing against private profiles, but because of my experiences here, let's say I stay on guard.

Unfortunately, those kind of people is everywhere on the internet, not only on Steam, but wise of you to be on guard, and not blindly trusting everyone, because those people do come with public profiles too.

BTW.
I have my profile set to friends only, I value my privacy, and don't want a salty person to harass my friends because of something I've said on the forum (that is happening too)

In general, the best way to meet people is to try to do so organically via random matchmaking until you find someone you sync up with.

I found trying to friend people from forums or groups doesn't work out that well, and I'm almost always better off rolling the dice until I get someone competent, then ask them if they want to play again sometime.
