Chinese Steam Names (Numbers)?

I was just curious about something, I notice a lot of steam players within China have their steam names set as a series of numbers. Is there a particular reason for this? (For example 19303493 and 14953034 are possible "players", usually there isn't a profile picture either). Not trying to be rude or disrespectful, I'm just curious as to this trend.

Reminds me of ICQ or even blackberry messenger... old stuff, but those IDs took on new life when people migrated off those platforms and reused their IDs elsewhere.

I would rather do that, than have to use an email address for a login. Just because it's unique and not shared with someone else, doesn't mean I want to necessarily give my address to some company because they are too lazy to maintain their own user name tables in a database...

Nope. When you create a Steam account, you simply do not have a community profile.

Well that and you have tyo understand howthe language works. It's sometimes just easier to write your name out as a string of numbers than with latin characters especially when the numbers (in yiour pronuinciation have the same phonetic sequence as your name or some abbreviation thereof.

Ah i see, Well i always see those number username when play match on online game but it doesnt affect anything to other people...
