Any good online co-op shooters out there ?

Hi, i been trying to find a good online co-op shooter for me and my friend to play, but i just haven't found anything that has catched my intrest yet, and i am hoping the Steam community can help me out ?
You see i play online co-op games on steam and playstation 4 with a friend of mine every now and then, games like Rocket League, Dead Rising 3 and so on, but i wan't to expand our possibilites, and have wanted to do so for some time now, i been looking into a good online co-op shooter, something Call of Duty style, without being Call of Duty.
Me and my friend often play online co-op in the form of 2 vs 2, like in Rocket League forexsample, and we want to take that same style of competetive play into the shooter genre.
We are willing to pay around 11 Euro's to make that happen if needed.

Here is the criteria for the games:

*Has to be a shooter
*Online co-op vs other people
*An active online playerbase
*Unlockable weapons/equepment
*Not Call of Duty

I feel i need to explain why i am avoiding Call of Duty, and it's simple,
the Call of Duty online features are more or less dead when the next Call of Duty game is released, and i am simply not going to chase the Call of Duty game francaise simply to play co-op multiplayer every now and then.

good games, sadly none of them offer the same military style multiplayer shooter i have hoped for.

While there is a few exceptions to what i wrote earlier, it also depends on the console or platform your on, i bought and enjoyed MW3, (probably the only call of duty game i truly enjoyed) yet when Black Ops 2 released a year after, the playerbase on MW3 where dropping at an insane rate, and before i knew it (a couple of months later) it was extreamly hard to find a game match with enough people to play properly, and that was on the Playstation 3 by the way

Yeah, not true on Steam. You can go and get a game instantly at any time. Even MW2 is the same way.

The real problem is the hackers...but you take the bad with the good I guess.

That's why i played MW3 on a console, that's why i play most competitive games on my Playstation 4 these days.

Your insight into console gaming was interesting as well. Just curious, have you transitioned to mouse/kb or still with a controller?

Once you've mastered mouse/kb, you will never go back.

It's something that i been doing a few years now and it's simply and have worked out for me every single time.

Whenever a game is multiplayer or just very online focused i get it for a console, that way i avoid hackers, moders, and so on,
This of course also depends on how good the online part is, if the games single player is a masterpiece while it's multiplayer or online feature are just shoved in for the sake of having an online part, then i may still buy the game on pc.

Spec op the line has good from what I just read.I did SP was great, take a look a outstanding game i like better the most COD SP
