How does "Avg. Game Completion Rate" on the Achievement Showcase work?

So I'm very confused about how this works? I just got a new game, and I got around ~50% achievements in it. Yet my percent went down from 34-33%, not a big deal, but I'm just confused how this works. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Perhaps some of the games you own got added extra achievements, some developers like to frequently update their games with newer achievements. An example I could give is Warframe and even Team Fortress 2. They have hundreads of achievements and keep coming. Early access games usually get achievements once released or improved.

Ah I see, but that still doesn't answer the question of how its calculated, it it the average of what you get in all games?

Or is it the the achievements you have compared to the total amount of achievements in all the games you own?

I believe its taking every percentage of completion from every game, for example:
Game 1 - 20%
Game 2 - 10%
Game 3 - 30%

Adding it up - 20+10+30 = 60
Divide it by the 3 games to get 20% Average, but could be wrong.

This, but with the exception that only games in which you already got at least 1 achievement count for the %. So games you did not play yet or did not get any achievement in dont influence the statistic.

So games I just install to idle (0/x achievements) don't count to the percentage?

Some of the games the steam achievements are broken, (ex. APB: Reloaded, Warface , etc. )

I do think games you have zero achievements in don't count towards the average, yes. The moment you unlock the first one, though, *kaboosh*.
