Broken Hand need advice
long story short i broke a bone in my hand and now i find i can't play anything requiring a keyboard and mouse. mostly I have been entertaining myself with Master of Orion 2, FTL Plague Inc, and HoMM5. (all games you can play 95% or more of the game with mouse alone.)

anyone have any suggestions for games for the temporarily crippled?

Civ series, grand strategy games, MTG, Age of Gladiator, Door Kickers. There are loads, but most are gonna be strategy or puzzle games.

If you want some action and have a controller then this game has an automatic mode that positions the character for you, you just have to use the attack buttons.

Also if you have a controller then you could use the steam input stuff in big picture to make controller mappings that work with just one hand. For example if you want to play some simple platformer then you could just put the jump on the trigger or something. You could play anything possibly but maybe not quickly if you master the mapper thing.

I like that remapping idea

The mapper can actually be really powerful, you can switch between different modes while playing games even or map the stick to a selection overlay of lots of different inputs.
It might not be super user friendly some times however.

Or you can just put it on the floor and map the stick to WASD and run around in FPS games with your big toe and shoot with the other hand.

Depending on what your doctor has done with your hand, though, they should be able to stabilize it so that you can at least use several fingers. Though it seems like your left hand is broken (if you can use a mouse). I shattered my right wrist a few years ago and because I do art and writing (and games) with my computer my surgeon made sure that I had an angle on the fixator that allowed me to grip and move the mouse pretty easily.

Bummer though, hope it heals quickly and well.

Sorry to hear that. Try using a trackball. You can probably play pinball arcade somehow.
