Looking for a good character customization game to buy

I'm looking for a new game to get, I don't really know what I want in all honesty, I cycle through games like it's nobody's business. Kind of in the mood for something where I can just mess around with character creation. Tried black desert but the grammar wasn't spell checked and all the quests look like they were written by 14 y olds, Tried EVE online but it's really a ship simulator. Tries champions online, too repetitive. Tried APB Loved the game, but greedy devs, grrr. Downgraded to guild wars, GW2 too generic, GW1 too old and can't remember my character name, so I can't log in. I beat Skyrim, Saints row 3, Mass effect 1-3. I don't know what I'm in the mood for, anything with good customization, can be a shooter, MMO, I'm just looking for good ideas, a lot of things look generic, anyone willing to help?

Refresher, games I know of, will update if something comes to mind: Skyrim/all es games, Mass effect, Saints row games Black desert, APB, Guild Wars, WOW, Elderscrolls online, Fallout 3-4, Secret World, online, cheesy mmos, dc universe, star trek, champions.

Saints Row 4 is particularly awesome in that regard. Same fun stuff from 3, but *super freaking powers*. The character customization in it is awesome, like 3.

I wish that I could say "come play City of Heroes" because that had awesome character customization .... but was shut down in 2012. If you owned the game, there IS a way to use the generator and hop on maps, now. Very fun for running around and reminiscing, but of course it's not actually playable as a game.

I saw a friend of mine play SR4 didn't like what they did with it.

I know the feels of a good dead game, I could be in the mood for anything similar though, if they had a game like Halo 1, where you could customize your gun/character and maps I'd do that. But I don't feel like map making for arma 3. I'm In the mood to for something, just can't seem to find it.

you should get oblivion, the character customization isn't as detailed as skyrim, but you should be very happy

Dc Universe Online has a lot of customization.

So does Star Trek Online. I made an alien race that looked pretty much exactly like an oompa loompa from Willy Wonka in there. Clothes and all, it was glorious.

Anyway there are two (free) mmo options.

Planetside 2 has a Halo+Battlefield on a massive scale feel to it.

you should get oblivion, the character customization isn't as detailed as skyrim, but you should be very happy

@DR. Fronkensteen yea I looked at them, I have no interest in star trek, long ago I played dc universe online as a villain, walked right out of the starter area, hadnt been playing for more than 10 minutes. Got auto killed by some "Hero" guys. Didnt make sense to me.

@Bossgalaga no customization in that game besides minor base building thats temporary

PS2 has both weapon customization, player customization, vehicle customization and skill upgrades and customization.
