Actually, that isn't harassment if you have the evidence to back it up.
Secondly, they have actually responded to several of my "reports" and they're saying they're investigating.
But... It seems a lot like an automated response, because its the same message everytime.
Either way, it may be that 10 days isn't enough. But by that time this guy has seriously caused some real damage. Oh and by the way, its not just in violation with Steam's online rules of conduct to impersonate someone, its illegal whether it be online or offline.
True, I can warn my friends which I already have done, but apparently that isn't enough. However what about those who aren't my friends who don't know me, but already is subjected to the FAKE me who don't know the REAL me?
If as you claim, some imposter is copying your profile and besmirching your good name, it's impossible for anyone to tell who the real you is unless they're on your friends' list since your profile is private.
Anyway, if you can't wait for Steam Support to respond you could attempt to message a moderator at the Steam Reddit and they may be able to help you.

If this is so absolutely serious as you claim that it's going to do real life irreversible damage to you then perhaps you should contact a lawyer.
First off all, my profile used to be public, its only due to this imposter I have set it to friends-only. Not only is the imposter using my gamertag, but also used personal photos of me. Unfortunately the imposter has also found my Facebook profile and have also been using pictures from there to impersonate me.
The imposter could most certainly hurt me professionally as I do online marketing from Facebook. But so far the damage is to my relations with my friends here on Steam. But most certainly also giving people I haven't even met yet a bad impression of me. Currently its been a mix between either trolling people or a lame parody of me in various games, in other words the imposter is making me look bad while also ridiculing me. Its also worth noting that I've been running a Troll-Free Community for the game Contagion, although I haven't been active with the game for quite some time now. It was only because a friend told me that someone was using my gamertag and personal picture that I've given the game some attention.
If definitely sounds like a good idea to contact a Steam moderator on reddit, as this imposter is relentless. Everytime I see the imposter online, that generally means the imposter is actively working on impersonating me.
As for steam, all I can say is try to find a way to block him in-game or ask the owner of the server to do it.
I already have - no actions taken against the imposter so far.
That will be quite difficult to do as he's using public servers, and the devs have discontinued it so it will be quite difficult to get anything done in that department.
Impersonating someone is not illegal (in America) unless your are impersonating someone like a police officer, or you are committing indentity theft for fraud. (That involves stealing your private info). Pictures of you are not private if you post them online, nor is your steam name.
This is why you shouldn't give out any of your information online in the first place!
Setting your account to private is useless when you use the same profile picture on multiple sites. I was able to find your LinkedIn page in less than a minute which, I presume, has your real name. I'm not going to dig any further but I'm sure I will be able to find a whole lot more personal information about you using what little I found about you so far. (And I'm not even good at this!)
Here is some "constructive & useful information" and tips for you:
1. Don't use the same profile picture everywhere. This is just stupid if you're expecting some sort of privacy or bifurcation between your personal life and any other type of social media.
2. Don't post issues like this on a public forum if you have already ignored point 1 above. Doing so will only cause the Streisand Effect. People who had no idea who you were will now have the information available to mess with you just because they know it will irritate you.
Has support contacted you back with a replie ?
That they're investigating, however it looked a lot like an automated message, and they look almost identical, the only difference was the signature. Secondly, the most recent response from support was several days ago, and they have been proivided with more than enough evidence to be able to see whats going on. They could even go to the imposters profile and see for themselves - everything was provided to support.
