I need a new MMO.
I just recently beat SWTOR and I decided against getting a subscription. Now, all I've got left is DBX2 and ESO (Which I can't play till I get a mouse and complete their tutorials) and a huge load of fantasy games. They're beginning to become tiresome. I want something different. Something like a Sci-Fi MMO with a small but highly noticeable mix of fantasy and a bold dash of an FPS system. Like, one minute I'm fighting some epic cyborg on an exploding space station and in the next I'm dueling space zealots over some mythical ancient artifact while some floating cosmic android whales watch and sigh at the battle gawking at the once peaceful field becoming a battelground tainted with magic and technology, then in one more minute I'm with my guild battling against a few hundred cool aliens with guns over some kind of rare ore with cool warships and space fighters duking It out all over the sky.

I've tried searching for It but the only games I found were DLC universe online and that WoW clone (I think It's name was wildstar but I could be wrong, there are so many)

Is there any MMO/upcomming MMO/project out there with the vision I've described here, Is what I want too much or did I simply not look well enough?

I guess I should of said I've beaten the free part. (It was a fun ride, but I really don't feel like getting a SWTOR subscription)

Thanks for the warning about those MMOs. I'll try to avoid them. Shame they're almost all the same with that fantasy stuff though. It gets bland very fast I'd kill for a sci-fi MMO with tera's artstyle.

Someone mentioned STO, Star Trek Online. Good game, but once you hit tier five max, you are screwed as to get to tier six you will need to purchase zen or grind a lot of dilithium to trade for zen, or if you are lucky grind a seasonal event for a free tier six ship. Star Trek Online isnt so bad, vibrant but as usual toxic community, lots of cheaters barely there pvp. The PVE is where it is at in STO. Fun game, but like all MMOS gets grindy and repetitive after awhile.

I found Defiance quite fun for a couple of months:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/224600/
One plus about Defiance is the open-world driving that gets you to places real fast and has great physics too. Another is the insane amount of different weapons and upgrades you can have.

On the downside, armor equipment and skilltrees are neither exciting nor very effective compared to other FPS-heavy MMOs.

Quests are quite engaging but they are scarce and more or less only there to guide you from one area to the next and through it, rince & repeat.

It's nothing you will spend your lifetime on, there's only ground combat and its 90% FPS vs 10% RP but you will have some wicked fun for several weekends, shooting mutants and whatsnot or running them over.

But watch out, this is one of the MMOs where the AI is both willing and able to kill your character.

I played STO for nearly a year and it was interesting, fun and vastly different from what I have played before.

The only problem I found (at elast back in 2013 / 2014) was, that you had to be in a fleet (=guild) to achieve anything as pick-up groups rarely worked, both in away team missions or space battles.

I'm curious. Will Star Citizen (Post release) be anything like what I said in the first post?

i think warframe is something like that also why not give a JMMO a go, basically MMO but more japanese themed, i actually enjoyed them like... Onigiri or Blade & Soul

B&S? The grind. THE GRIND. I mean I did enjoy it while I played it, but after a few months I decided that I know when to fold 'em ^^
