Trading without Mobile Authenticator
I am trying to trade my Counter Strike: Global Offensive weapon skins for cash on trading sites, but none of the sites will let me trade because I don't have the Mobile Authenticator. This means that the trade will have to be held for 15 days (One site allows this, but there's 15% commission).

Now, I would have the Mobile Authenticator enabled, however they won't accept my mobile number? It states they don't accept VOIP numbers, but its the only number I have? I have a Windows Phone signed up with Three Mobile, its just an ordinary (+44) mobile number, like anyone else's in the UK. So they is nothing I can do to enable it on my mobile, I even contacted support.

On a side note, I find it quite strange that will accept my mobile number to text me the code for the two-step security verification? But the app wont allow me to use my number.

Please help, really want to trade my skins soon :)

1. valve does not accept VOIP numbers. that is that.

Why is my number being blocked because it's considered VOIP?

We are unable to accept new VOIP phone numbers on Steam due to them not meeting our security requirements. If your phone number is blocked because it's considered VOIP you will need to find a mobile or prepaid phone number to use on Steam. Select carriers use VOIP technology in their cellular plans and we are unable to support these. Our system will notify you when you enter your phone number if we consider it to be a VOIP number.

2. we can not help you with sites that are not affiliated with valve in any way. ask the sites support for help.

(Sorry If I'm reading this wrong)
What is the issue with a +44 number?

Are you saying that because it's a british phone number you cannot activate it?

nothing.

it is a VOIP number and that is all that matters.

Yes, but he's claiming to have a windows phone from Three Mobile. I'm trying to work out why he wouldn't have a valid phonenumber if he has a simcard.

Because if he has a simcard, it wouldn't be a VOIP number.

some services use VOIP for their cell services. three mobile is one.

The installation of the app currently requires the use of a non-VOIP number as part of the setup procedure. The number does not need to be tied to the device you're installing the app on.
