However, you need to be aware that there are two version out of three that you should consider:
1. Wired pad (the one I got). Just Plug And Play on a Windows machine.
2. Wireless pad for PC with wireless adaptor. You only need one adaptor for up to four wireless pads. Might be hard to find, as Game, Gamestop and the like might not have those in stock.
Let me reiterate: without the adaptor, you cannot use a wireless pad. Rechargeable batteries are not included! Batteries died easily in the past - I do not know if MS got that fixed.
I have a wired pad myself, and it is showing the abuse of all the years of good service. I wouldn't be any happier.
as you might know better, what is needed in order to use a PS3 controller? I know you need at least a Bluetooth receiver. USB cable is only used for charging and easy pairing on the PS3.
I'd like to know myself as obviously that's the cheapest option for me :)
You need a USB cable.
