Half Life 2 collectors edition CD key

Okay, so a long while ago I bought this thing called Half Life 2 collectors edition. When installing it, it asked to download steam, and use the CD key. Well the problem is that I don't use that account and I can't install it to my current account with out the key. So my question is, can I some how go to my old account and deactivate the key on that account so I can use it on my current account?

No, I bought half life 2 collectors edition, which you have to install steam to play. I had used the cd key it came with on an old account. I dont use that account anymore and I want to play half life 2 and ccs (comes with it) on this account.

I kinda have the same problem, but I haven't found a way to make it switch accounts yet :'( I think it's impossible :/ You'll just have to switch accounts then :D

As mentioned in your other post. A game that is bound to an account will remain on that account.

You can't swap games between accounts! (Sorry!)
