Steam not detecting C++ Runtime
Any games that run in Unreal Engine that I try to launch from steam, give an error saying they require Microsoft C++ Runtime. I have uninstalled C++, reinstalled both x86 versions and x64, I have rebooted multiple times now. If I go and directly run the game from the Win64-shipping.exe the game runs fine. This isn't exclusive to one game. There are multiple. It seems to be some kind of disconnect between Steam and Windows. Does anyone else have this issue?

Unreal engine games will not all use the same version of C++ runtime.

Go to the Microsoft website and download all versions of C++ runtime.

Install them all in order (oldest first) and see if that solves the problem.

I already had all or at least most of them installed from the MSFT website. I tried removing all of them again and reinstalling every version, both x86 and x64. I am still getting the issue though. The two games that I can actively recreate the issue on currently is Storage Hunter Simulator and Fisherman Simulator. I know I saw it on another game a while back, but don't remember what game it was.

Thanks for replying.

Have you checked the game folders to see if they contain a version of C++. It may be that they use a custom version.

Please note: I do not have either game so cannot check.

The only other thing i can think of is to set the properties of the game exe to run as an administrator.
