ive used we mod on single player games like STRAY-there is a phone app that we mod give you acess to when you pay for the monthly subsription ,so you can turn on and off the cheats during or just before loading the game-its very handy.
the problem with cheating is when you start it to get onto scoreboards against people who have played vanilla style (ie,plain good old fashioned gaming),or to one up people ingame,so a car you are driving may be flying in the sky over the heads of everyone else (wont mention a game that used to be rife with this).a lot of cheats i use are usualy nothing to do with making a game more simple (which for me is often needed due to my disabilitys) theyre to create an even better amusing, cinematic or sensory experience that you dont get with games from the start.
Or launch the game in -insecure mode first. A number of folk have gotten permanent VAC bans for "testing" cheats in single player matches with bots in the past.
