Used copy of Counter Strike Source
I recently purchased a hard copy of Counter Strike Source from a Goodwill store, and after I put the four discs in and waited for it to install, it asked me to put in the code. When I did, it said that the code has already been used. Now whenever I click the icon on the desktop to open the game, it just sends me to the Steam Store page where I can buy the game. What should I do?

PC games are not meant to be resold. They are tied to the CD key. If this copy has been used then the key has been used already, making that copy of the game useless to you. If I am reading your post wrong and you bought a new version of the game, I guess you could attempt to contact support about it.

So I bought four coasters? This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! I payed for a service that they aren't giving to me. I should sue them! This is the last straw! I've had enough with Steam's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!

If you bought a used PC game from a retail store then you need to direct that at them. Suing Steam for something as inconsequential as this is pointless as well as wrong. Which was it? Did you buy a used PC game? Or a new game that has a CD key that has been used? Either way, go to the store where you bought the game and ask for another copy of the game. If that does not work...you can try Steam Support or you can buy another copy of the game. It should be dirt cheap at this point.

As I said, it was a Goodwill store. They don't HAVE another copy of the game. It's not a huge deal because I only paid $3.88 for it, but even if I can get my money back for this game, it's still more expensive on Steam. It's completely ridiculous that I legally bought a game and I can't play it because someone else did before me. Steam must be getting paid by game developers to prevent the sale of used games.

PC games are not meant to be resold...at...all. It is common knowledge that CD keys can only be used once. This isn't a conspiracy, this is the way it has been done going back fifteen years. And not just for games on Steam but ALL PC games. Those CD keys are there for a purpose. There are no 'used games' in the PC market.

I'm very new to PC gaming. How the ♥♥♥♥ was I supposed to know this? There was no warning on the box. I'm going back to consoles. Nintendo doesn't treat us like this.
