It may have been Uplay i was thinking of. I remember launching a game on PC with 80% downloaded or something. Would be a nice feature to add to Steam
It wouldn't be a nice feature to play a game before it's fully downloaded? You have more patience than me my friend ;)
In origin you can start play before its finished
I think Battlenet does it too with some games. I think with Starcraft 2 it had actually 3 stages, it downloaded the low res assets first to become "playable" and then it proceeded to download until it reached "optimal" which I think was probably high res assets/audio for the early game campaign, and then it would download until finished.
