Counter Strike 2 download, and it won't play, Help?

I feel snake bit. My first Steam download was Delta Force, and I haven't played it because I wouldn't sign the Li-Pass account link. My 2nd download is complete, Counter Strike 2, but for some reason it won't play (even though it says it is). I get this error window:

This application requires DX11, no valid device found!

What am I doing wrong? Help, plz!

What is you computer specs? Sounds like your GPU doesn't support directx 11

Directx 11 was released in 2009... so that would have to be a pretty old gpu

I would start by installing you GPU's latest drivers and see if that fixes it.

I just uploaded "Enlisted" to see if that would work. Still wouldn't play once downloaded. So, yes, working on driver updates, with Lenovo's help, their auto scan and updating my system. All driver updates went well, it said, except the GPU. It said the Nvidia update didn't install. So, ... I'll keep trying, and let you know how it's going.

Kinda frustrating, as I am new to gaming and so far, getting "in" to PC gaming is harder than I thought it would be.

I did 3 manual driver updates on the GPU. Then tried to play/game again, still no luck. I will have to contact a Levono tech, most likely.

Could it be that these "free" games are the culprit? Could they have bugs that just don't allow them to play properly. I find that hard to believe, or it would be more widely known. IDK?

This is kind of a "wargame" in and of itself. LOL

Well, I tinkered with my Edge browser settings and went from Strict to Balanced on the security settings, trying to disable the default Edge VPN (couldn't figure that out yet entirely). Anyway, the Steam gaming for Counter Strike 2 started working! Success.

Then another downer. The game doesn't support controllers, or my xbox controller! So it did not game well at all! It's more for keyboard and mouse gamers, apparently.

I'll be more careful to read the game disclaimers before I download. Still searching for a free game I might like, that actually works OK, so I can try the gaming aspect on this new laptop!

I know Xbox PC Game Pass might be an option. My laptop has a 3 month pass on it. I want to wait on that, until I try a couple of Steam games first.

Eh, so I'm new to Steam, new to PC gaming, but what's going on with withdrawing controller support from certain games? Does this seem to be an issue as I begin to read other threads?
Is it insurmountable?

I'm used to playing on an xbox one, or 360. The couple of games I've tried, or looked up, have the xbox controller settings all changed (from what I'm used to), or are saying they no longer support controllers. What am I to make of this?

I don't want to learn keyboard & mouse gaming. Just want to play some games with a decent controller/gamepad that works!

The very most games support controller input. I play basically everything on controller, aside from fps and rts games.

Secondly, steam supports every controller itself, doesn't have to be supported by the games. You can go into bigpicture mode, select the game and put keyboard buttons on the controller and play it with that, if it truly has no other support whatsoever.

So you can play every single game on any controller you want, you can customize all of it yourself.
