My First Experience w/ Steam
Hello friends! I just Created a Steam account, downloaded "Delta Force", thinking that would be a good start to gaming (I'm a relative newbie), add $5 to my Steam Wallet, I'm good to go, right? I then run into a Li-Pass link to my account, in order to play DF. Sorry, I'm not doing that! That seems invasive, and linking my account here to a Chinese company that has sold it's soul to the ChiCom government, just so I can play a video game is not my idea of a fun start.

I will likely uninstall DF now, unless I can be talked out of it. Suggestions from the regulars?

Here's hoping that my next experiences with Steam are good, and better than this first one.

Put in your refund request as soon as possible.
2 hours of playtime or 2 weeks of having the game... whichever happens first... disqualifies you from a refund.
There are several non-chinese games on steam to choose from.

Didn't know that.
In that case you can still get it "removed" from your account and get all your "money" back.

They're trying to be the best extraction FPS over Warzone and others. The devs are some who actually worked on CoD Mobile.

Some people just don't want to give their publisher any info because they're a Chinese company but as of right now, they aren't doing anything wrong by requiring account linking the same as what Ubisfot, EA, Rockstar, Epic Games or Microsoft would require.

P.S. It's also not a Steam issue.

I don't think I'm going to worry about $5. That's all I have in it so far (my Steam Wallet). It would have been a "free" game to play. And it allowed me to talk with you!

It might not be an issue, but then again, who knows? It didn't sit well w/ me on my first download. Perhaps Steam could put a disclaimer up for any 3rd party mandatory links to your account before you can play? And be clear about it before you download?

Is this 3rd party linking (like the Li-Pass) common place?

It's highlighted right on the store page...

Requires 3rd-Party Account: LEVEL INFINITE PASS (Supports Linking to Steam Account)

Yes, especially when it comes to AAA games.

Don't worry about the Chinese, your stuff is not that important to the Chinese government. Actually, to any government.
