Help my nightmare I can not log in and play my game.
Hello everybody , Well, I signed up to Steam simply because the days of buying a disk and loading it up without the internet are gone, sadly . Here we are with the days of trying to play a game we supposedly purchased and simply can not play it because we can not log in . haha

So I'm seeking some help, Here is my story.

I have two computers I used both to begin my Steam experience.
PC 1, which is where I made my Steam account on and was signed into my email to verify the account. ( PC 1 is no compatible with playing later games it is very old )

PC 2 I downloaded the Steam App on to Windows 11, now this is where the issues begun. I made countless efforts trying to log in to the Steam app on PC 2 with Windows 11, eventually I was able to log in once ( I kept getting Email notifications from PC 1 about how I have logged on with another device, which is PC 2 with the Steam app downloaded and installed.

On the only successful log in with PC 2 running win 11, was with a safeguard I downloaded one game, I tested the game it works. Then I shutdown both computers, a few hours go by and I restart both PCs, PC 2 tried logging into both the app and from internet browser, no success, I tried logging on with PC 1 no success.

The only thing I could do was reset my password, which I did about 5 times and I tried hundreds of countless times logging in on PC 1 ( browser only ) and PC 2 ( browser and app ) with no success however eventually somehow with the reset password , I was given a safe guard code and was able to log in to Steam with PC 2 on the browser .

I've read some forum's I've cleared my cookies, catch, the works and just still can not log on with the app.

With the way things are going I don't know if I'll be able to log in again.

I don't have home internet, it cost me $50 to buy mobile data to download my game.

Is it possible that because I used PC 1 to sign up to Steam and verify my account, could be the reason I'm having problems in the first place, that been using PC 2 to download the app and the game ?

Should I start from scratch, with a whole new Email and redownload Steam on PC2 and the game so that way Steam believes I'm using my account from the first original computer ?

Any help will be much appreciated, as I really miss the days of simply buying a game on disk and just loading it in the disk drive with no BS, haha

1. Check your Account Name and Password
Ensure you’re entering the correct account name (not your profile name) and password. If you’re unsure of your account name, you might find it in previous emails from Steam. Also, be cautious with special characters in your password, as they can sometimes cause issues.

2. Steam Guard and Multiple Devices
Since you’ve been using multiple devices, Steam’s security feature, Steam Guard, might be causing complications. Each time you log in from a new device, Steam may require a verification code sent to your email. Ensure you’re checking your email for these codes and entering them correctly. If you haven’t already, consider enabling Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator for more seamless access across devices.

3. Clear Steam’s Cache
Corrupted cache files can sometimes cause login issues. To clear them, press Windows + R, type %localappdata%\Steam, and press Enter. Delete all files in this directory, restart your computer, and try logging in again.

4. Firewall and Antivirus Settings
Your security software might be blocking Steam. Try temporarily disabling your antivirus and firewall, then attempt to log in. If this works, add Steam to the exceptions or whitelist in your security software to prevent future issues.

5. Update the Steam Client
An outdated client can cause login problems. Download the latest version of the Steam client from the official website and install it on your PC.

6. Internet Connection
Ensure you have a stable internet connection. Unstable or weak connections can impede the login process. If possible, connect to a different network to rule out connectivity issues.

7. Contact Steam Support
If none of the above solutions work, it’s advisable to reach out to Steam Support for personalized assistance. Provide them with detailed information about the issue and the troubleshooting steps you’ve already taken.

I hope these suggestions help you regain access to your Steam account.
