I received a gift of a game I already own

Hi everyone, since there's no way to contact any steam support I hope you guys and the community will help me out
I purchased a game, like 5 months ago. Yesterday a friend of mine gifted me that same game (Don't Starve Together).
I don't know why steam did let him buy me a copy without letting him know I already have it, it's really weird.
But I accepted the gift and it something like "we added it to your gift library" or something like that.
I don't want his money to go to waste...I thought of like giving that extra copy to another friend of ours to play with us or I don't really know what to do
What should I do? Did he really spend like 6 dollars for nothing and there's NO WAY for him to get a refund or for me to gift that game to somebody else?

"Unredeemed gifts may be refunded within the standard 14-day/two-hour refund period. Redeemed gifts may be refunded under the same conditions if the gift recipient initiates the refund. Funds used to purchase the gift will be returned to the original purchaser."

There it is, now: Where do I click? Where do I have to go to give my friend his money back? Or the game back?

I don't know because I've never refunded a gift, but I believe it's the same process as refunding a game purchased by yourself:
