Using VPN on steam
Hello everyone,

I occasionally need to connect to Steam while at school, but my school's network blocks access to game-related sites and services. To bypass this restriction, I use a VPN to download games, make purchases, and play them.

However, I'm not entirely sure if using a VPN is allowed according to Steam's terms of service. I’ve tried looking it up online, but I’ve seen mixed opinions—Tsome say it's discouraged, while others suggest it could lead to account issues.

Can anyone clarify if using a VPN for these purposes could seriously compromise my account? I’d appreciate any advice or official references.

Scroll to the bottom. I guess the highest chance for a ban is to buy something in another region. But personally I wouldn't risk my account to test it out.
