Don't Use Steam!!! They will steal your money and they will not keep their word.
I bought the game SKATEXL in January. The game was horrible and did not work properly. Go online to find others speaking about the terrible game physics of the game. Then I asked for a refund only to then learn of their 2 hour!!! refund policy. I had "played" the game for 3:54 by this point. I put "played" in quotations because the game was dog-ass. For the first 45 min to an hour the controller wouldn't work. After going to Gamestop and buying a new controller and getting back to the game I fumbled around for about an hour trying to get the character to consistently respond correctly. A few minutes later I realized the game was not fun and I had no interest in playing any further. After asking for a refund at least 3 times and getting denied, even though the policy is on a case by case basis, I received an email from Olga J that stated they would refund my money. By this point I was ready to delete my account, but it sounded like an attempt to right the wrong. I deleted the game btw and have not played it once since. This was about 3 weeks ago. I still have not received the refund. STEAM SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Here is the original message with Olga's response. "I'm canceling my service because I was denied a refund for a game I bought just yesterday. Waste of $40. To date, this was my first and only purchase with Steam. This game was not enjoyable. I wasn't aware of the 2-hour policy for a refund, not that it mattered because i rarely if ever return a game. The 2-hour policy is ridiculous for a game you can't test beforehand and this information should be more accessible during purchases. Skate XL was not enjoyable and I knew I would not be playing it going forward. 1 day into the game play I'd hope to reallocate the funds I spent on the game to a different game as I padded my Steam library with other games. I spend 3:54:00 on a game, bumbling about, not enjoying, and ultimately not wanting to play because the GAME PLAY SUCKS! Keep my measly $40. It's not about the money. It's about the principle and keeping the customer happy. I'll be letting everyone know how satisfied I was with the STEAM EXPERIENCE on SM. It was worth the $40 to realize this isn't an honorable company worth doing business with! And you could've made so much more money in the process. So shortsighted." <- This was on Jan 17 @9:30am.

Olga's response is as follows at @3:31p on Jan 17: "Hello there, Our refund system is designed to approve or deny the refund based solely on the terms set by the policy. You're more than welcome to reach back out if you think your case needs a second look and we'll be glad to take another look. I have checked your account and due to circumstances I CAN [sic] issue a refund exception for this purchase, as a Wallet Credit. Please confirm if you wish to proceed with this refund. Steam Support Olga J."

I did respond and still to this date I have not had any of my hard-earned money returned to me. If you were me, how would you feel about Steam?

I do not recommend Steam. If you're new to Steam and you're reading this turn back now. Don't get lied to and robbed as I have. Save your money! Don't let these crooks hijack your energy and money.

Did you reply to Olga who stated they will take a second look. You do this by doing a manual refund "I have a question about this purchase".

I have never had a problem with Steam refunds.

Abs if it was a matter of simply going to the help desk this conversation would not have transpired. This was 3 WEEKS AGO! Not 7 days. The information you provided is useless. Further, they stated they would return the funds to the WALLET!!!! Which they did not do. You don't need a bank transaction for this to take place. Damn you guys, get your crap together. All of my steam games are GREAT. First of all I download a demo if possible for all the games I want to buy, second I see a video and some opinions about it, third I ALWAYS READ THE POLICES FIRST AND LAST 2 hours is enough to know if the game is good or bad, laggy and other IF you did a research for the game before you buy it.
