Besides unlocking profile customizations, is there any other advantages to increasing your profile level?

As well you get to add more friends to your steam friends list

Any account can be used to scam. Some are even hijacked before that.

Doubt its much of a benefit but the higher your steam level, the higher you are on the friends list display on your steam profile. Kind of an odd choice since the friends list itself doesn't categorize like that.

Collecting cards can be fun for some, but as others have said, no real benefit to it.

Some of the female gamers only send their nude/naked photos to people who have an 'x' level profile. For example, the female gamer will only send her naked pictures to you if you have a level 50 Steam profile
