The fact that some outsider folks and groups use it for pirating purproses doesn't means its dangerous to own it. If it would be the case, Valve would have removed it.
And since its free-to-play and Valve participated in making it, we basically all own it. Go to your account details and remove the subscription, if you don't want it at all.

I don't have any free-to play games, so I don't see myself, but as I know there should be a "remove" option by the free ones.
If you think Valve will just sit there and do nothing against people pirating stuff, you're wrong.
Encouraging piracy is against the discussion rules.
In addition to that, necroposting is frowned upon.
Don't worry about it unless you sailed the seven seas. I have Spacewar! installed on my computer in hopes that I can play it with somebody one day but of course, nobody is online and it's just a bunch of pirates and cracked servers.
