Because a conglomerate like Valve would clearly go bankrupt by creating a process where a user uploads their grandparent's drivers license to then get an additional discount, and then that user will sell the account on ElDorado for a slight profit. Sarcasm on the "clearly"
That's the Freddy Kruger of your proposition from the POV of a CFO/CEO/CIO.
Identity theft + abuse + more support tickets = more issues = more liabilities = more labor = more expenses.
To support your idea, you'd think at the minimum Steam would give users discounts or free game vouchers for "years of service" as a way to entice customers from jumping ship to Epic who gives free games every week, but nope......20 years later all you get is 1000xp and a green box next to your name....That should tell you everything about the management team at Valve/Steam & what they expect from consumers.
"Bestow rewards without regard to rule, issue orders without regard to previous arrangements, and you will be able to handle a whole army as though you had to do with but a single man."
Games are pricey because humans are generally greedy traumatized sociopathic ni-ggards.
Just the other day I was on a discussion for a game that's been in ALPHA since 2019 who has sold over 700k copies domestically (not globally) at $15, and the developer still cries how they're the only one working on the game and that's why they haven't implemented any major updates/suggestions provided by customers with hundreds of hours invested into the platform.
I've worked at a digital media company. I've seen how fast assets, code, and a working final product can be created in a single sprint by a competent labor force.
Companies MAINLY focus on younger players because younger players arent privy to the manipulation/abusive tactics being employed by these predatory conglomerates. They haven't been expunged of their hope or ignorance metastasized by their propagandized youth. They are sheep with full coats of shiny new wool prime for harvesting, banging at the doors begging for the suckle of a warm nurturing ( . ) with pockets full of $$$. Hence why the big dogs like Activision have started going the Free-to-Play route, they have milked the CoD franchise for everything it had, and the only way to maintain their grip is to give it out for free and instead rely on micro-transactions that will heavily determine your game-play based on matchmaking (Pay-to-Win), or Rockstar who is likely releasing GTA 6 as a subscription a la iRacing.
You will pay twice as much, own nothing, and be happy.
If your attitude is in any sense prevalent, then we are lost as a people, and there is no justice, no morals, and no one should trust anyone for anything.
What a horrible way to live your life! Thinking the WORST of people!
Shame on you, and all that agree with you.
Have no good way to ask this but i think still got the sekiro reflexes?
I agree with your first sentence.
I have not confused them.
You seem to misunderstand fair commerce: the low margin businesses are shining examples of community responsibility, and are the stars of my point. Larger profit companies need to step up and act like adults (we all get old, you know) and act more responsibly.
Profits have never been a justification for bad behavior.
Based on the relentless trend towards macro-transactions, I have little faith in a change in the industry for demonstrating any concern for the elderly at all.
That doesn't alter the fact they should do more.
Thanks.
Sounds like someone forgot their pills. Are you sure you're allowed to be on the internet for so long grandpa?
You were born between 1960-1940 and you claim you werent born into a world of cheaters?
You didnt grow up in a world of cheaters? You my friend are clearly lacking in your daily water intake & suffering from delusional senility. The greatest generation went to war and died fighting sociopathic european ethno-religious fanatics and handed you the keys only to have your generation destroy global democracies, poison our air, our water, our lands, our genes, and sell the title and land deeds to the same people who murdered your parents and are now murdering your children and grand children. You and your generation cheated every life destined to the prison you call a just, moral, trustworthy world.
I dont think, sir. I KNOW.
If were going to be logical, you worked a finite set of hours and are compounding profits for each sale. For every sale, your finite "part-time" free-time game increases your "hourly rate", so regardless if someone pays $20, or $2, every single cent you make is a net-positive, and every sale you miss out stagnates your "hourly rate" for your "part-time" labor.
It is in your best interest to make as many sales, for as much as you can. Thanks for proving my point. If your goal is to only make money spare yourself and our community your self-deluded BS and sell feet pics like the rest of them.
You should not be getting any senior discounts on any luxury item. you should have saved your money during your working carreer to afford luxury items during your retirement.
All the discounts you get are also partly funded by the people who work their asses off. instead of whining and talk ill, you can also say thank you to the younger generations that make your senior diapers possible.
by the way i'm not a kid, teenager, not even a young adult. i'm the working class adult who pays to much taxes, to pay for before mentioned diapers
